1st day
Start at 8.00 a.m. from your hotel in Phuket to Khao Lak. Coffee break in Kokkloi. In Ban Lamru we leave the highway and, crossing farmland, we go into the mountains, where we stop at a rafting station besides a small jungle stream. From here we start with bamboo rafts for a river cruise to enjoy the tropical nature around. There is also the possibility for bathing in the river. After the bamboo rafting we start for the „Asia Safari Park“ in Khao Lak, where Elephants are waiting for you, to carry you for about one hour through evergreen jungle and rubber plantations. Thereafter you may look round the small zoo and the orchid garden. Lunch will be served in the old trekking station. From a viewpoint you can enjoy a fantastic view to the beaches of Khao Lak. In the afternoon we visit the Sri Phang Nga National Park, which is joined with the more famous Khao Sok National Park. During an interesting jungle walk of about 1.5 or 3.5 hours (up to your condition) our experienced guide will show you the rich fauna and flora of the Primary Rain Forest. Beneath a picturesque waterfall you can take a bath in the cool water of the jungle stream. Back at the car, we bring you to the „Kuraburi Green View Resort“, which is situated in a small jungle valley. You will like the countryside with the small lake beneath the hotel and the swimming pool. In a romantic atmosphere, you will enjoy your dinner.
2nd day
Start at 8.00 a.m. to Khao Sok. Our car climbs up in long turns to a view point of the mountain range from where you will enjoy a fantastic view over the Khao Sok Valley. At last we reach a small temple and cave besides the Khao Sok River. From here we start for canoeing on the Khao Sok River and for one and a half hour you will enjoy the beautiful countryside with its bizarre limestone hills and evergreen jungles.
After this river cruise we go by car to the Cheow Lan Lake, which belongs to the Khao Sok National Park and which is famous for its bizarre limestone mountains. During a 70 minutes ride with a long tail boat, you will get an unforgettable impression of the overwhelming panorama of this unique countryside. We will have lunch in an original floating restaurant on the lake. After lunch, there is time enough to take a refreshing bath in the lake before we start for a short jungle walk. The trail is easy to go and ends at the raft house of another small lake. From the raft house we go by a motorized bamboo raft to the opposite shore, where we climb up a slope and enter a small but beautiful stalactite cavern. The name of this cave is „Pakarang Cave“, which means „Coral Cave“. After exploring this small but very beautiful cave, we start back for the raft house where we will stay overnight. The accommodation is very simple: Bamboo huts, floating on the lake (with mattresses and mosquito nets). Dinner is served in the raft house restaurant. After dinner we go by long tail boot to watch wild animals.
3rd day
After breakfast we leave the lake and we continue our tour to Suratthani and cross a part of the country, which is still nearly untouched by tourism. We pass through a beautiful countryside with changing aspects. Our first stop will be at a small, nearly forgotten temple, which dates back about 800 years to the period of Sukhothai (12th century). Ancient Buddha statues adore a cave, which we have the chance to explore. Lunch will be served at the riverside of the Tapi River in Suratthani. After lunch we start for a 1.5 hour long tail boat river cruise on the Tapi and its klongs, where we can study the nature and the people living along the rivers, between we stop, where macaque monkeys are trained to collect the coconuts from the trees. Thereafter you will check in at City Hotel, where you can take a rest until we start (at about 6.00 p.m.) for a home stay dinner at the Tapi River. If you like, you can watch or assist your hosts while preparing the dinner. At about 8.00 p.m. we start for another river cruise, during which you will enjoy millions of fireflies dancing around the mangrove trees. This will be an unforgettable „night safari“. From the darkness of the river we then turn to the brightly illuminated city of Surathani, where the official program of this day ends at about 9.00 p.m. But of course, you may stay longer and enjoy the nightlife of the city by your own.
4th day
We will leave Surathani at 8.00 a.m. and start for a hot spring, where you can take a bath and/or watch local people making handicrafts. Slowly we drive back to Phang Nga Province and Phuket. In Phang Nga we visit the beautiful Chedi Wat Bang Riang, which preserves a tooth of Lord Buddha. The temple is situated on top of a hill, surrounded by a Buddha park with monumental statues. From the temple you have a wonderful view over the whole Phang Nga Bay. Lunch will be served in a restaurant from which you can overlook the interesting mangrove areas and Limestone Mountains. After lunch we go to Phang Nga City, where we visit the Phung Chang Cave, another exciting stalactite cavern. For about one hour you can explore the cave by boat and raft. Thereafter we will bring you back to your hotel in Phuket, which we will reach about 6.00 p.m.
