Khao Sok - Cheow Lan Lake Expedition
The Khao Sok National Park is part of the largest natural reserve in southern Thailand, covering over 4.400 square kilometers of tropical rain forest.
The Cheow Lan Lake is part of it. Most Khao Sok tours focus solely on the entrance of the national park, but our excursion leads us further to the “Cheow Lan Lake“. The lake's surroundings provide exciting views over mountains, bizarre lime stone formations and wild jungle. An all abundant variety of wildlife awaits the curious visitor.
After a scenic 70 minute “Longtail” boat ride, we will arrive at our jungle trek departure point. After a 40 minute walk, we arrive at a little lake which we will cross by bamboo raft. Then, after yet another short walk, we reach the entrance of “Pakarang” Cave (pakarang: coral). Equipped with head lamps, we’ll explore this cave to find giant columns, stalagmites, stalactites and calcite ponds with coral-alike structures. The traditional bamboo raft will bring us back to our boat.
We will then stop for lunch at a floating restaurant, and after that go for a quick bath in the lake before we depart again for Khao Lak. An exciting and unforgettable day to remember.
